  • Craig A Ball

    Dr. Ball graduated in 1997 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine. In 1990 he graduated from Plano East Senior High. Dr. Ball has worked in the veterinary field  since he was 15 years old. "I have a true love for all aspects of both large and small animal care. I aspire to meeting the needs of our clientele fully and truly improving the health and well-being of our patients."

    Dr. Ball is married to his wife, Ashley and they have a son named Seth Alan.  They have two dogs, Little Orphan Annie - Australian Shepherd Mix, and Aggie - Yellow Lab. When time permits they enjoy riding their horse Chief.

    Dr. Ball enjoys fishing, bird hunting, riding ATV's and camping.

  • Ashley Ball

    Office Administrator
    Ashley grew up in Keller, TX. where she graduated from Keller High School. She earned an Associates Degree in Accounting from Tarrant County College and she also attended Texas A&M University. She has worked in Mortgage/Banking  and has been a licensed loan officer. She is the Office Administrator for GAC and handles all the financial aspects of the clinic.
    Ashley is married to Dr. Craig Ball and adores her son, Seth. They have two dogs,  Little Orphan Annie - Australian Shepherd Mix and Aggie - Yellow Lab.  They also have a horse, named Chief.
    Ashley enjoys scrapbooking, reading, camping, riding ATV's and riding horses.

  • Mary Jenkins

    Office Manager
    Mary has been with the clinic since December of 2004.  She graduated high school here in Gilmer, and then received an Associates of Science Degree from North East Texas Community College and a Bachelors of Science in Agronomy from Texas A&M Commerce.  She has held a Certified Applicators License in Pest and Termite Control.  Mary frequently attends seminars on veterinary medicine and management.  And she is a member of the East Texas Manager's Association.  

    Mary enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  She is the proud mother of three, Desirae, Allen, and Derek.  And the very proud "Nonni" to her granddaughter Myla!  Their family also includes partner Ryan, daughter in law Jordan, Astro a Golden Retriever, Marilyn, the diva Yorkie, Maverick the wild Doberman, Tank an English Mastiff,  and a cat, Blot.

    The family enjoys taking trips to visit zoos, museums, and amusement parks.  They also enjoy exploring caves, bowling, putt putt golf,  going to the movies and family cook outs.

  • Annette Bohnert

    Kennel Manager
    Annette is the kennel manager for Gilmer Animal Clinic.  Annette has been with GAC since September 2008.  She is responsible for making sure that our boarding facilities are as comfortable and clean as possible for all your pets.

    Annette and her fiancee Cam  moved to Gilmer from Tracy, California.  They have four sons, Nicholas, Jake, Zack, and  Derrick .  

    The family also includes, Izzy, a golden retriever, Clyde the Hound Dog, Hope, a Treeing Walker and five cats that go by Shadow, Camo, Fuzzy, SJ, and  Willie.   

    Before coming to Gilmer, Annette had worked for over thirteen years a as veterinary technician and then as a bio-tech animal facility manager for the last fifteen and half years.   Her studies certified her as a laboratory animal technician, or "LATg".

  • Jonathan Smith

    Jonathan has been with Gilmer Animal Clinic since July of 2015.  He is a graduate of New Diana ISD, and currently holds two Associate Degrees in Agriculture Science from North East Texas Community College.  Jonathan grew up on a horse and cattle ranch were he learned the trade of horse training.  His family includes his parents, Donald and Kathy Hawkins, grandparents, Larry and Carlen Hawkins, and siblings, Jena, Jason, and Colton.  And of-course his horse, Double Eyed San Peppy.  

    Before joining the GAC team, Jonathan worked in many industries, including a Sea World Scuba Diver, Horse Carriage Driver, Lumber yard hand, Metallurgical Scientist, Ranch hand, and Horse trainer.  Jonathan enjoys animal training, leather crafting, scuba diving, fishing, bow fishing, skeet shooting, horse back riding, camping, and chuck wagon racing.

  • BreAnne Reece

    BreAnne grew up on a farm in rural Oklahoma where she fell in love with all kinds of animals at an early age.  She became interested in veterinary medicine soon after her youngest child was born and has since been working as a veterinary technician.  BreAnne has been with Gilmer Animal Clinic since March of 2016.  She is also interested and involved in animal welfare.  She has worked and volunteered for various animal rescues and still finds time to be involved when she can.


    In her spare time she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. BreAnne and her husband, Chris have three sons, Jaden, Bryent, and Lane. The boys are very active in sports and love playing with their dogs.  The four legged members of the Reece family include, a Great Dane named Hero, and a Boxer Meese.

  • Sara Kaye Smith

    Sara became a member of the GAC team in May of 2017.  She is a graduate of New Diana High School and attended Grayson College on a softball scholarship.  

    Her family includes, Mom and Dad- Laura and Chuck Smith of Diana, sister and brother in law- Cheyenne and Brant Day, and brother Chris Gittens.  Sara's family also includes their red heeler, Dingo and cat, Zazu.  

    Sara loves being outdoors.  She enjoys fishing and hunting with her Dad and brother in law.  She is also her little brother's biggest baseball fan.  

  • Brittney Rel


    Brittney joined Gilmer Animal Clinic May of 2017.  Originally from Louisiana, Brittney had recently relocated to the Pittsburg area from Kansas. She attended Maple Woods College in Kansas City, MO, and plans to attend Northeast Texas Community College and eventually Texas A&M to work towards her Zoology Degree.  

    Brittney hails from a large Louisiana family.  She moved away to experience a new place, but quickly decided the south was for her and moved to Texas to be closer to her family.  She shares her life and hugs with Koda, her Lab Mix fur baby whom she has had since his birth.  

    Brittney worked as a Veterinary Assistant in Lenexa, KS before joining the GAC team.  She loves to read all genres of books.  You can also find her swimming, hiking, spending time with her family and friends, and always spoiling Koda!!

    Joyce Ballew

    Joyce is bright and ready every weekend to make sure all of our boarding clients are well taken care of.

    Joyce is married to her husband, Curtis, and they have two children Calvin and Connor.  The Ballew family shares their home with their pets, Sasha, Callie, Spunky, Maddie, Shawna, Sophie, and Sweet Pea.

    Joyce enjoys reading, and going on family camping trips.
