  • Craig A Ball

    Veterinarian
    Dr. Ball graduated in 1997 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine. In 1990 he graduated from Plano East Senior High. Dr. Ball has worked in the veterinary field  since he was 15 years old. "I have a true love for all aspects of both large and small animal care. I aspire to meeting the needs of our clientele fully and truly improving the health and well-being of our patients."

    Dr. Ball is married to his wife, Ashley and they have a son named Seth Alan.  They have two dogs, Little Orphan Annie - Australian Shepherd Mix, and Aggie - Yellow Lab.  When time permits they enjoy riding their horse Chief.

    Dr. Ball enjoys fishing, bird hunting, riding ATV's and camping.

    Memberships/Associations: AVMA, TVMA, ETVMA, AAEP, The Association of Former Students Century Club, 12th Man Foundation, Upshur County A&M Club, Upshur County Lions Club. He is also very active in leadership with Boy Scout Troop 314.

  • Ashley Ball

    Office Administrator
    Ashley grew up in Keller, TX. where she graduated from Keller High School. She earned an Associates Degree in Accounting from Tarrant County College and she also attended Texas A&M University. She has worked in Mortgage/Banking  and has been a licensed loan officer. She is the Office Administrator for GAC and handles all the financial aspects of the clinic.
     
    Ashley is married to Dr. Craig Ball and adores her son, Seth. They have two dogs,  Little Orphan Annie - Australian Shepherd Mix and Aggie - Yellow Lab.  They also have a horse, named Chief.
     
    Ashley enjoys scrapbooking, reading, camping, riding ATV's and riding horses.

  • Mary Jenkins

    Office Manager
    Mary has been with the clinic since December of 2004.  She graduated high school here in Gilmer, and then received an Associates of Science Degree from North East Texas Community College and a Bachelors of Science in Agronomy from Texas A&M Commerce.  She has held a Certified Applicators License in Pest and Termite Control.  Mary frequently attends seminars on veterinary medicine and management.  And she is a member of the East Texas Manager's Association.  

    Mary enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  She is the proud mother of three, Desirae, Allen, and Derek.  And the very proud "Nonni" to her granddaughters Myla and Addison and grandsons Lane, Cason, and Walker!  Their family also includes partner Ryan, daughter in laws Jordan and Monze, son in law Xavier, Marilyn, the diva Yorkie, Maverick the wild-n-crazy Doberman, and cats Blot and Oliver Pickles Houdini.

    The family enjoys taking trips to visit zoos, museums, and amusement parks.  They also enjoy game nights, bowling, putt putt golf,  going to the movies and family cook outs.

  • Annette Bohnert

    Kennel Manager
    Annette is the kennel manager for Gilmer Animal Clinic.  Annette has been with GAC since September 2008.  She is responsible for making sure that our boarding facilities are as comfortable and clean as possible for all your pets.

    Annette and her fiancee Cam  moved to Gilmer from Tracy, California.  They have four sons, Nicholas, Jake, Zack, and  Derrick .  

    The family also includes dogs Harley and Hope, as well as seven cats that go by SC, Camo, Loki, SJ, Phanty, Pudge and  Willie.   

    Before coming to Gilmer, Annette had worked for over thirteen years a as veterinary technician and then as a bio-tech animal facility manager for the last fifteen and half years.   Her studies certified her as a laboratory animal technician, or "LATg".

  • Kellsey Scarborough

    Receptionist

    Kellsey joined Gilmer Animal Clinic June of 2019.  She is the bright face and friendly voice that greats you when you call or visit GAC!

    Kellsey hails from a native East Texas/Gilmer area  family.  She has two brothers and two sisters.  Kellsey and her husband Brett stay busy with their children Madison and Colt.  Barney, their Basset/Pitt Mix completes the family with an abundance of love.    

    Kellsey is a graduate of Pittsburg High School, and has earned an Associate of Science degree from NTCC.  She is also a Certified Medical Assistant from Vista College.  

    Kellsy enjoys spending time with family, being outside, watching Madison play softball, riding four wheelers, fishing, reading, and beating her family at Super Mario!

  • Sara Kaye Smith

    Technician
    Sara became a member of the GAC team in May of 2017.  She is a graduate of New Diana High School and attended Grayson College on a softball scholarship.  

    Her family includes, Mom and Dad- Laura and Chuck Smith of Diana, sister and brother in law- Cheyenne and Brant Day, niece Wren, and brother Chris Gittens.  Sara's family also includes their red heeler, Dingo and best friend and rescue Alona, a pitt mix sweetie!  

    Sara loves being outdoors.  She enjoys fishing and hunting with her Dad and brother in law.  She is also her little brother's biggest baseball fan.

  • Macey Holt

    Technician

    Macey joined the GAC team July 2018.  She had recently moved back to Texas after living in Virginia for several years.  She is a graduate of Yorktown High School and was kennel manager at her last clinic.  She is also a self proclaimed "army brat".  While Macey has family here in East Texas, she left her parents in Virginia.  Macey enjoys working and playing outside.   Macey's mission is to make every pet's visit to the vet as fear free as possible.

  • Joyce Ballew

    Joyce Ballew

    Kennel
    Joyce is bright and ready every weekend to make sure all of our boarding clients are well taken care of.

    Joyce is married to her husband, Curtis, and they have two children Calvin and Connor.  The Ballew family shares their home with their pets, Domino, Ruff, Peaches, Sally, Sam, Shiloh, Spunky, Sugar, Sophie, and Sweet Pea.

  • Sydny Johnson

    Kennel Assistant

    Sydny became a member of the GAC team in April of 2019.  She is a graduate of New Diana High School and plans to attend NTCC in the fall, and eventually Texas A&M.  

    From a young age Sydny has loved animals and at the age of 16 decided that she would like to be a veterinarian by profession.  

    In her spare time Sydny enjoys being with her family and working on her art.
